People who turn the IBA misery into pleasure :P

We hardly flaunt our love for each other since we are queens of sarcasm, but I got so impressed by Sidra's blog that I decided to dedicate one entire post to you guys. FB (you know what i mean) is cool okay? :P

This entire journey of IBA would have been a nightmare if it weren't for you guys. Our shopping trips, random nashta plans, ricky rides, theme parties, posing, picture watching sessions, surprise plannings, bloopers (points at Sidra), ditching (looks in the air and says "hey see pigeon" :P) fights and COVER UPS :P, K3G and dances, are all little memories that made the year worth remembering. 3rd semester was all about hogging on food and 4th was all about losing weight. But each and every day when i woke up for school, I knew loads of laughter awaited me :)

Fashion for me!

How did I end up being at IBA is a question I still ask myself. I wanted to pursue my career as a fashion designer and wanted to get into a fashion institute. But Allah had planned something else for me, and here I am half a graduate majoring in marketing.
But my love for fashion is on growing and I plan on taking summer courses and continue it as a part time activity. I design clothes for myself and for my family. This is something I enjoy and never get sick of it. If I ever get a chance I would love to become a designer and have my own line of clothing and become a brand.

COKE-my state of nirvana

Any state of complete bliss and delight and peace is what nirvana is. One bottle of coke and all sorrows gone. Best antidepressant ever! And I think there slogan is the truest thing any marketer ever said. Coke-Open Happiness. The following video is I guess one of the best commercials in the history of advertisements.

MUSIC-MY LIFE

The magic that chords and drums together create leaves me at awe and wonder. And these God gifted people, the singers, have played an excellent role of inspiring the people and communicating goodwill messages. Michael Jackson’s “Heal The World” and Strings’ “Mein Tou Dekhunga” are great examples of this. Click on the names to see the video.
Heal The World    Mein tou dekhunga

Other kinds of music are based on emotions and feelings of a lover, of a betrayer, of a person who is scared of the world. The following song by Katy Perry, according to me, is a very inspirational song and is targeted at all those who are scared of presenting themselves to the outer world and are afraid of being socially unacceptable. Enjoy the song by clicking on the link below!
OMG look at this.  So COOL na? create your own music by clicking in the squares and dance. genießen!!!!

Karachi Karachi hai yaar..

I was in Islamabad a few hours ago and just landed in Karachi. Oh dear it feels awesome to be back in my city. Karachi is the best. It is so colorful and so full of life. When you compare it to other cities in Pakistan you will know that it may not have those beautiful mountains or those lush green hills, but what it has is beautiful people. The people of this city make Karachi awesome. And I am a proud karachiite J Take a look at the following video and see the colors of this city! Enjoy the video.

Something about me?

I see my fellow bloggers writing anecdotes about themselves and doing a pretty good job but when it comes to describing me I get confused. I have been designed in a way such that I cannot brag about myself. So I will rather tell you what others think of me.  Some say I have a huge nose, while some say I have long fingers (qanoon ki ungliyan) and some go to the extent of describing my feet as ugly and calling me BIG FOOT! But despite all these deformities people say my pictures turn about to be quite pretty :P
I love socializing, hanging out with friends and posing is my favorite thing to do. I wish I owned a DSLR, I would have captured the beauty of the world. Pictures create memories and I love cherishing the past. American shows are an antidepressant for me and when the world turns upside down for me I watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother follow the list of my favorites.
Other than watching shows I spend a major chunk of my day talking to my 8 years old brother and annoying my other siblings. I hide their belongings and poke them until they run to beat the hell out of me.  If I magically won a million rupees, I will give myself a vacation and give 1/3rd in charity and help the poor people and spend the remaining money buying designer shoes, bags and watches. Aah how awesome that would be!

Wish List!

"I wanna be a billionaire so fricking bad
Buy all of the things I never had
Uh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine
Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen"

Bruno mars can sing and tell about what he wishes. But I aint no Bruno Mars. I can only write my wishes down and hope that they come true.

I wanted to be an independent woman, earn my own money and pay for my own expenses and make my parents proud. But I am 20 (a perfect age for a girl to get married, or engaged for that matter) and I am a memon, which makes this dream a bit impossible. One shattered dream magar picture abhi baaqi hai mere dost ;) yea i know that was lame.

This life is too short and this world too big. And I dream of seeing this world within the few years I will spend here. Travelling makes me happy and land is filled with God’s wonders, so why not give my soul a soothing pleasure. Paris and the Bahamas are top of the list. And Venice, Potugal, Dubai, Maldives and Hawaii follow. Following are the pictures of these places and very soon I will see myself in them :) Dream Big!!

Dear Luck, Gather up!!
The Bahamas.
See you soon ;)

Christian Lacroix on Fashion
Originally published in 2007 to accompany an exhibition at the Musée de la Mode et du Textile, this new paperback version has an added poignancy given the recent decline of Christian Lacroix's label. Colourful imagery and prose explore fashion history from the 18th century to the present day, along with Lacroix's own designs.
Fashion blogs are crucial sources of news and inspiration for everyone who wants to stay up-to-date on fashion. Therefore, they compete with traditional media, both visually and in terms of content.

  100 years of Menswear
With a nice balance of prose and archive images, this interesting book explores how street subcultures and famous wardrobes have influenced mainstream male dress over the last century.

who is Fashionista?

The word "Fashionista" is formed from fashion by adding the suffix -ista from Spanish, equivalent to our -ist ending. It's person devoted to fashion clothing, particularly unique or high fashion.

In today's Urban society, "fashionista" is not by any means a negative term.
Thanks to television shows like "Sex and the City" rather more specifically, thanks to actresses such as Sarah Jessica Parker, the image of a "fashionista" has been modernized into a much more positive, powerful and successful feminine role.

"Fashionista's" simply look at Fashion as an Art, their own bodies as the canvas, and the sense of style they develope along the way is simply the masterpiece.
